Paul was given a thorn so he would not become conceited.
God called him to do a great work and he was not defeated.

God sees all our frustration, pain, and sorrow.
He brings us faithfully in glory for tomorrow.

There are so many sad stories, and too many tears.
God knows how we’ve suffered through the years.

We witness unimaginable circumstances and tragedy everyday.
And we see miracles unfold through people’s lives when they pray.

The Lord is our father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost.
He gives us grace to overcome so we can not boast.

Let us thank Him for our thorns, for we are children of the King.
Through trials we applaud Him, in songs of acclamation we sing.

“And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, least I should be exalted above measure.” (2 Corinthians 12:7)
