This teaching was not written to advocate leaving the Catholic Church. It is meant to give the reader pause to think about what it is they believe in and why. If we are doing something that displeases the Lord than those are the things we need to re-think. Surely we want to follow God’s Word and not mans. The Apostles were the men that were with the Lord. They were ordinary sinners like us. Jesus did not put one of them higher than the other. They were given gifts according to their strengths, and they grew in their walk with the Lord because they followed him, and not man.
In reviewing so many religions and their beliefs, it is obvious that all religions are intertwined with each other. We are all human and fall short of God’s glory and make the mistake of following man rather than the only true source we have, which is God’s Word the Bible. People seem to want to stay in the shelter of the religion they were raised in because it fits their comfort zone. The problem with that is most have no idea what it is they believe in or why.
In the words of John the Apostle (John 1-5) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made – that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.”
