Remember tucking your babies in bed
Pulling up the covers and kissing their head
Remember the peace you felt inside [1]
Remember feeling puffed up with pride
Remember keeping them from harms way
And every night for them we’d pray [2]
Remember how we took on their pain
Remember how we bore their shame
Remember how we endured their strife [3]
We most certainly would give our life
Our love for our children is very strong
No matter what they would do wrong [4]
So too, it is with the Lord above
He who extends us unconditional love
How He must suffer as do we
When our children stray away from thee[5]
God our heavenly Father above
Gave us choice with discerning love
As parents we know we must let go
Letting our children be free to grow
The Lord remembers his children well
He gave His life to save us from hell [6]
