Written for a friend’s friend
It seems inadequate to say to you I am sorry my friend
Although I truly am and hope our relationship will mend
For whatever reason I have offended you it has hurt my heart
There’s an empty place within my being now that we’re apart
Whatever came between us is not worth the anger or fuss
Let’s mend our fences and love each other once again in trust
Accept my apology and the forgiveness I am asking of you
Friends are God’s blessings and liken to you there are so few
We need to be more like Jesus and turn the other cheek
As the Lord did with a spirit that was mild and meek
